Thoughts Are Things - Part 1 Revisited

When a strong sense of yearning
shines from our inner being,
when we decide we deserve better,
when we are able to caste off
the shackles of conditioning
only then are we ready to set forth
on the path of yoga.

  1. If only there were merely one set of shackles. One mode of conditioning becomes conscious and then discarded, then another appears. Layers like an onion, much conditioning since birth. Yet what to keep and what to discard! Do some instances of conditioning serve to provide structure in one's life? When is "better" really better and not just another diversion on the path? When to stay and push through something - when to accept that better is somewhere else and leave? These are things I struggle with at times when inner knowing is at war with ego and both are shouting "my truth"!.
